Abraham Lincoln once said, “…in the end, it’s not the years in your life that count; it’s the life in your years”. Michael and Carrie Woeck exemplified Lincoln’s words through the every day, consistent, unmatched love that they shared. It was not about the location, and not about the plan, the ups nor the downs, but instead simply another day spent with one another.
Their love persevered through Carrie’s 6 year battle with cancer, and Michael’s diagnosis mere months before her passing. Together they spent 29 years together, 26 married. Each day another blessing, not only for them, but for anyone lucky enough to be a part of their lives.
In the end, my father told me he wouldn’t have changed a single day. The love that they shared left more life in their years than most get years in their life.
